Texas Storm Nation Youth Mentoring Program

Program Requirements

For Adult Mentors:

  1. Application and Vetting:

    • Criminal background check.

    • Interview and reference verification.

  2. Mentor Training:

    • Required attendance at a Storm Mentoring Training session.

    • Topics include: boundaries, effective communication, public setting requirements, and youth development strategies.

  3. Commitment:

    • Attend at least three games per season.

    • Lead or participate in at least two presentations per semester.

For High School Mentors:

  1. Application and Vetting:

    • Selection based on character, academic standing, and leadership qualities.

    • Parental consent required.

  2. Mentor Training:

    • Attend a Storm Youth Mentor Training session.

    • Topics include: mentorship ethics, peer communication, and public mentoring guidelines.

  3. Commitment:

    • Attend at least two games for junior high or elementary mentees per season.

    • Lead or assist in at least one peer guidance session per semester.
